Hi, Iā€™m Allie

As a former yoga teacher who dedicated several years to studying yoga and a digital marketer by trade, I felt inspired to create a platform where I can share my personal yoga practices with anyone who finds them useful; and also for myself as a personal creative project.

Throughout my mid twenties and early thirties, I devoted most of my spare time to taking yoga classes and workshops. I frequently traveled to attend yoga sessions in New York City, including those at the Iyengar Yoga Association and Dharma Yoga Center. In 2016 I earned my 200-hour yoga teacher training from Freehold Yoga Center in New Jersey followed by a 20-hour yin yoga teacher training with Kate Kuss at Pure Yoga in New York City later that year.

In 2017, I deepened my study of yin yoga by attending a 10-day Insight Yoga Training with Sarah Powers at the Ishta Yoga Center in New York City. Additionally, I taught yin and Sivananda yoga classes at The Freehold Yoga Center for two years. As life became more complicated, my yoga practice eventually shifted to being home-based, and I made the decision to take a break from teaching yoga.

My home practice consists of a mix of gentle yin and restorative postures, along with a simple vinyasa practice that incorporates influences from my hatha yoga training. My favorite yoga poses are Warrior 1, 2, and 3ā€”I just can't get enough of the warrior sequence! As for my favorite yoga books, they include 'Light on Life' by B.K.S. Iyengar and 'Insight Yoga' by Sarah Powers. When it comes to studying yoga online, Jason Crandell is my go-to resource.

Currently, I'm reading 'Yoga Therapy and Integrative Medicine' by Larry Payne Ph.D., Terra Gold M.A.LAc., and Eden Goldman D.C., alongside my enrollment in a self-led online 200-hour yoga teacher training with Aura Wellness Center. When I'm not practicing yoga or cuddling with my three dogs, I enjoy gardening, hiking, paddleboarding, snowshoeing, skiing, and traveling with my partner.
